"LOVE LOCKS"

on the "beloved" Hague pedestrian bridge

What a whopper of a misnomer! "Love" locks? Would anyone who loves the bridge join in trashing it with a slew of ugly, rusting padlocks? — and in the name of love, right? It's not only a misnomer, it's a cynical, hypocritical sacrilege. In the name of love? "LOCK TAGGING" is what it really is.

Lest we forget how ridiculously out of hand the "rusty padlock = love" notion got, below are photos of when the bridge was strewn with the unsightly vandalism/graffiti.
